From February 17 to 18, anyone who wants to check their health can have their blood sugar, blood pressure and body mass index measured free of charge by doctors at the Sun Plaza shopping center. All consultations take place in a specially arranged space on the ground floor, close to the main entrance, and will take place between 10:00 and 22:00.
Investigations are done by a team consisting of a doctor and a medical student. Glycemic values will be measured with a glucometer, and to measure blood pressure, tensiometers will be used. For body mass index (BMI) the values considered are weight, height and abdominal circumference.
Participants will find out what are the metabolic risks of developing diabetes or hypertension, and doctors will make further recommendations based on the results obtained from the measurements.
This initiative supports the community Although over 1,500,000 Romanians are enrolled in the National Diabetes Program, it is estimated that there are approximately one million additional undiagnosed cases in Romania. Moreover, the growth rate of obesity in Romania until 2035 will be 2.1%/year for adults and 5.6%/year for children. *
Sun Plaza is an active supporter of the local community and the health and well-being of its customers is a priority. These investigations are offered free of charge to Sun Plaza customers to help them assess their health.
“Obesity, Diabetes and High Blood Pressure” is the theme of the fifth edition of Sun Help, a project designed to support the community. Previous editions addressed topics such as: giving first aid to newborns or how to protect ourselves in case of an earthquake. In the third edition, Sun Plaza customers benefited from free spirometry, and in the fourth edition, free dermatological checks.
