Sun Plaza is joining this year’s Earth Hour movement at its 12th edition. Thus, on Saturday, March 30, 2019, between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm, Sun Plaza will turn off the lights in the shopping center.
Sun Plaza supports the message of the global campaign: Climate and extra-climate issues are so serious, current and complex that there is an urgent need for action globally. The common voice of millions of people across the globe thus reaches even the highest decision-makers’ fora.
In the shopping center, only the safety lights on the common areas will remain on.
Earth Hour was first organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature – Australia in Sydney on March 31, 2007, being a worldwide registered trademark of WWF. More than 2.2 million people and 2000 Sydney headquarters have turned off the lights for an hour that evening as a sign of climate change awareness. The involvement of people all over the globe has made Earth Hour in just a few years to become the largest environmental event in history.
Earth Hour is celebrated annually on the last Saturday in March, ie very close to equinox, so that all cities have darkness between 20:30 and 21:30.
Join the campaign and turn off the lights!
