ESPLANADA NORD Come and run on September 26 at Sun Challenge, the competition organized by Sun Plaza in Văcărești Natural Park! You will enjoy a run in a very special place and, at the same time, you will contribute to the “First house for otters” program.
We expect you to sign up for one of the 3 distances and live with us the Sun Challenge Vacaresti experience!
In its third edition, Sun Challenge is the only running race through the Văcărești Natural Park. You can register for one of the three competition distances – 5 km, 10 km, 21 km. Whatever route you choose, you will have the opportunity to run inside the park, on trail paths, among lakes, reeds, willows and old trees, in the place where otters, turtles and over 170 species of birds live.
All the money obtained from the registrations will be directed by Sun Plaza to the Văcărești Natural Park Association for otter conservation programs (Lutra Lutra). We will build a burrow for the otters in the park and we will install video cameras to monitor them. In addition, the rangers in the park will sanitize the area (otters love clean water), will build a raft from the found petals. we will talk about the otters that live in the park. in the park (to draw attention to the plastic pollution of the waters) and will mount panels for the designation of habitat and protection areas (“Shh, you are approaching the house of the otters!”).
Don’t miss the Early Bird period! Until August 31, the participation contributions are reduced – 80 lei for the 5 km or 10 km tests and 90 lei for the 21 km test. From September 1, the contributions increase – 100 lei for the 5 km or 10 km tests and 120 lei for the 21 km test.
